ND Profile

Azza ElBakry, ND, DPH, ND

My interest in health and wellness is a lifelong journey. Since I was seven years old, I had a dream of being a Physician. I always believed that health is the route for happiness, achievement, and satisfaction. I joined Medicine following my dream and belief. I then got involved in Public Health aiming to reach out and help more people. In this field, I earned my Master's and Doctor's degrees. I had the opportunity to share and develop my expertise in Public health work and projects. Through my career in Canada, I worked as a Medical Scientist at the Tropical Disease Center of McGill University in Montreal.

Over the years, through more readings and research, I got to understand that individualized medicine is the gate to better health; individuals with the same diseases might need different treatment plans to gain their ultimate health. I also got to know, through personal experiences, that we as human beings have a huge role and control over our health. Coinciding with my awareness, I joined the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). My previous medical background and Naturopathic training at the college brought me to where I want to be; helping people on an individualized level to achieve their health goals.

I further enriched my career by studying at McMaster University to be a certified Research Associate, granting myself the knowledge of evaluating the multitude of research out there. Combining the knowledge and experience, I would like to provide my patients with evidence-based naturopathic medical support. Naturopathic Medicine has the beauty of providing versatile modalities to support our health including, nutrition, lifestyle counseling, traditional Chinese medicine (Acupuncture), Homeopathy, Hydrotherapy, Botanical Medicine, Supplementation with minerals and vitamins, Exercise, and Relaxing techniques such as mindfulness.

Recently, I have developed a particular interest in women’s health. I believe in the role and power that women need to have in their communities. I have a special interest in all women’s issues; whether it revolves around their general physical health, menstrual cycle irregularities, abnormalities, infertility, menopause, stress relief, or their mental health. I understand clearly the stresses of life whether single or in a family, whether a mother or trying to conceive or struggling with infertility. I am able through Naturopathic medicine to help, support, and establish the fundamentals of health needed to empower women.
