ND Profile

Briana Takeshita, ND

Born and raised in the Thompson-Okanagan region, Briana relocated to the Lower Mainland and attended the University of British Columbia – completing a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. With an interest in the human body and optimizing sport performance, Briana worked at the Richmond Olympic Oval creating Integrated Athlete Development Programs for municipal and provincial sports teams. Upon reflection, Briana recognized her passion for health and its intimate relationship with the environment, and at the intersection stood Naturopathic Medicine. In 2018, Briana completed an enriching 4-year Naturopathic Medicine Program at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, BC.

Fundamental to her treatment philosophy, Briana aims to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools—both modern and traditional—to identify the underlying root cause and overcome the ailment. She recognizes the grave importance of treating the individual rather than the diagnosis and prioritizes using safe, effective and targeted therapies to support the body’s innate capacity to heal itself.

Briana has a clinical interest in treating PANDAS/PANS and has preceptored with Dr. Ayla Wilson throughout her Naturopathic education. Briana also takes interest in treating inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, endocrine disorders (thyroid, diabetes, female and male hormones), digestive conditions, skin conditions, stress and sleep concerns and childhood ailments (autism spectrum disorders, ADD / ADHD).

Briana holds additional training in pharmaceutical prescribing, bio-identical hormone therapy, IV therapies, immunization, nutrition and nutraceuticals, lifestyle counselling and botanical medicine.

Dr. Briana Takeshita is registered and in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC and the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
