ND Profile

Tara Slemon, ND

The Slemon family has strong roots in the Clarington medical community, and this is where Tara first became interested in health and working with individuals to reach their health goals. Her love of sports and science lead her to Wilfred Laurier University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, with a minor in Chemistry. Through her undergraduate program and through many volunteer hours, she familiarized herself with different fields of practice, though felt most drawn to Naturopathic Medicine and the broad scope of possibilities the field promised. Tara then spent the next 4 years in the Naturopathic Medicine program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she graduated in 2013 after completing in classroom courses, multiple board exams, and a year of internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic.

Tara has been practicing and accepting patients since January 2014, and is still continuing to grow and learn within the ever-expanding field of Naturopathic Medicine. Her favourite modality is acupuncture, though works within the wide spectrum of practice tools to individualize treatment plans for her patients. The most common patient complaints she works with are pain, injury, digestive complaints and hormone dysregulation, though also has a lot of experience working with mental health, energy/burn-out, sleep disturbances and fertility.
