Dr. Behrendt has been at the forefront of change and growth in the profession. In 2009, she was appointed to the transitional council of the College of Naturopaths by the government of Ontario. Her role was to help transition naturopathic medicine from the old health care act to the RHPA, the Regulated Health Professions Act, which is the legislation that governs Ontario's health professionals. She served in that capacity for over 6 years, helping to create the new regulations of the College, until the changes were finalized in July 2015. One of the new regulations is the ability of naturopathic doctors to prescribe certain medications, including bioidentical hormones.

Having been in private practice in Ottawa since 2001, Dr. Behrendt has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating thousands of patients. She looks forward to helping you with any questions you may have, via email or telephone, in French or in English, and will greet you for your appointments with a warm smile and a hot cup of tea!
