On September 7, 2008, Prime Minister Harper announced that we are heading to the polls on October 14, 2008. The current Parliament has now been dissolved which means that all Bills before the House die on the Order Paper. Bill C-51 is now a non-issue. Although the Bill is gone we expect similar legislation will be put before the House at some point in the future. The CAND will continue to address the concerns Bill C-51 raised with the Ministry of Health and Members of Parliament.
